IVS keeps students engaged in learning over the summer! In 2017, IVS will be implementing many new additions to our services and course offerings. Course enhancements include an increase in the time available to complete Credit Recovery courses and the addition of a Credit Recovery Specialist to assist students with technical issues. The IVS Middle School Program has also been updated, and now includes: Learning Recovery, Full-Service, and Summer Bridge options.
Starting in April 2017, schools that do not pay their students’ IVS course fees can submit a request to have students billed directly.

A recent study by Stanford University found that many middle school, high school, and college students cannot tell the difference between real news and fake news. This may be because a lot of those students are getting their news from social media sites, rather than from credible news sources. You can click HERE to listen to or read National Public Radio’s Cory Turner’s story of a non-profit organization that has established a digital curriculum for high school students that helps them assess and determine whether the news they are receiving is real or fake.
There is still time left to enroll in the Jan. 5 and Jan. 19 full-service course start dates. Click HERE to view Illinois Virtual School’s course offerings. Students seeking credit-recovery courses can enroll and start at any time. Have a great 2017!
