My name is Tyler Breitbarth and I am a recent hire to Illinois Virtual School. I was born and raised in Eureka, Illinois. I attended K-12 at District #140 in Eureka before moving on to Illinois Central College, where I studied Secondary Education. I graduated with my Associate’s Degree in 2007 and finished my Bachelor’s Degree in History with Teacher Certification in 2009 at Eureka College. Since 2014, I have been working on my Master’s Degree in Education Technology through Aurora University.
After I completed my student teaching at Dee-Mac High School, I substitute taught in various schools across Woodford County. I started my teaching career at Eureka High School, my alma matter, where I taught many different Social Studies classes, including U.S. History, Government, & Global Cultures. In 2014, I transitioned to the role of Technology Integration Specialist helping teachers with technology K-12.
I am very passionate about technology and education. As I became a teacher, I continued to combine my passion of Technology and Teaching. When I am not working or playing with tech, I enjoy spending time with friends, family, and my parents’ 4 dogs. I am a movie buff as well and enjoy reading historical non-fiction books.
